The warranty is applicable on manufacturing defects. Warranty Card is given to the customer along with the product. The card is non-transferable and not replaceable in the event of loss. Every AC has a motor inside a compressor. The compressor provides the cooling capacity for the AC. If the compressor or its electrical controls are defective, the compressor may try to start, fail and create an electrical overload. If the unit does create an overload, every compressor circuit is also equipped with an overload safety switch. The safety switch is designed to protect the compressor from burning out. The safety switch will cut the power to the compressor for a certain length of time and then reset itself. When it resets, it will allow the electricity to flow to the compressor once again. If the compressor then starts, the air-conditioner should function normally. If the compressor doesn't start when the overload resets, the overload will again cut the power to the compressor. This cyclic event will continue indefinitely (always allow three to five minutes before restarting the compressor). If this situation is happening, unplug the air-conditioner and get help from a qualified appliance repair technician to repair the air-conditioner at the SmartCare center. This problem is often fatal to the AC because the cost of repair is often high.

It is normal for water to collect in the lower base of an AC. If water leaks out from the front, it is usually because the AC is tilted forward in the window frame. All the ACs should be installed carefully to ensure that they tilt slightly back to allow for proper removal of the condensate.

The capacity of air conditioner depends on the volume of each room to be cooled and its heat load. The cooling capacity of an AC is measured in kilo calories per hour (kCal/hr) or British Thermal Units per hour (BTU/hr). If you purchase an AC that is too small for the room, it will not cool adequately; also if you buy the one that is too large, the AC will cool the room before it dehumidifies, which may give you the feeling of sweatiness. So, get this calculated before purchasing the air conditioner.

First, check the batteries of the remote controller. Even if the screen is visible but faded the batteries may be compromising system operation. Good alkaline AAA batteries (2 nos.) are required for the AC to function properly. We recommend you DO NOT use rechargeable batteries, standard, or low priced bulk buy batteries in I-Sense remotes. Batteries should be changed at least once every six months, even if the appliance is not used, or when the display fades in less than six months. Secondly, check that the remote is in a direction that the I-Sense infrared link can communicate with the indoor unit, till the time air conditioner is running. If not, then move it to a position where it can and press appropriate button on remote controller. When the indoor unit beeps each time you press a button on the remote, then it is in a good condition. The system WILL NOT function properly as expected, if the remote is in a drawer/cupboard, under an object or in between cushions on a sofa set, etc.

The EER, an abbreviation of Energy-Efficiency Ratio, measures the AC's energy consumption and efficiency. It is a ratio of thermal energy to electrical energy. A high EER ratio means less electrical energy is being consumed that further means more money savings.

You should keep the air-filter clean so that maximum cooling capacity and efficiency is ensured. During peak usage times the filter should be inspected once a week to make sure that it is not clogged with dust, fiber, etc.

Windows are available up to 2.0 TR. Above this capacity only splits are available. Besides, if the location of the room is such that a window cannot be installed then also a split is the only option.

There is no obstacle to air flow to and from the AC. The place can give a rigid platform so that the AC can be installed securely. This will also reduce sound and vibration.

A normal window AC or split AC will throw air up to 15 feet. However, special split ACs are available to throw air up to 30 feet.

While perfumes do create a good atmosphere, they should be used cautiously as some people can be allergic to them. The best way to keep the foul smell out is to open windows and use fans to bring in a lot of fresh air before the AC is started. Keeping the AC room clean is also equally important.

Window and standard split air conditioners have a compressor that runs at a fixed speed. The compressor is therefore either on or off depending on the set temperature. The Inverter AC thinks and adjusts according to your needs. Its compressor has variable speeds and changes its frequency according to the ambient load. As the frequency changes, the speed of the compressor also changes. This eliminates any temperature fluctuations and helps maintain a comfortable temperature. For example, a 1.5 ton Inverter AC can decrease its capacity to 1 ton or increase its capacity to 1.75 tons, as per the requirement. As there is no cut in and cut off, the Inverter AC saves up to 30% more power.

Window ACs and split ACs of lower tonnage work on single phase. However, it is better to have a 3-phase supply, and distribute the other loads like geysers, washing machines, pumps and lights in the other 2 phases.

    • (i) for better cooling it should not be more than 20 degrees
  • (C) Ask the customer whether back side of AC is clear or not for air exhaust
    • (i) If it’s not free - Please remove obstacles from back side
    • (ii) If it’s free - Move to the next step
  • (D) Check if the remote is working properly or not
    • (i) If no - Change the battery of the remote and check
    • (ii) If yes - Call Customer care for engineer’s visit

  • (A) Check if the room is properly closed or not
    • (i) If not - Ask the customer to close the room properly. No air ventilation should be there for better cooling
    • (ii) if yes - Move to the next step
  • (B) Check from the customer does he/she clean the air filter frequently
    • (i) If no - Suggest customer to clean the air filters at least once in 15 days
    • (ii) If yes - Move to next step
  • (C) Check the temperature which customer has selected
    • (i) For better cooling it should not be more than 20 degrees
  • (D) If the problem still exists, call to customer care for engineer’s visit

  • (A) Check if the water is coming from drain pan or not
    • (i)If yes- If water is coming from drain pan than it's clear
    • (ii) If no- If water is not coming from drain then it's chocked
  • (B) Check if the installation is done properly or not
    • (i) For window - If the back is slightly lower from its bottom level then it’s OK. If it’s upwards than it is not proper and call will be registered
    • (ii) For split - If AC in indoor unit installation is tilted then it is recommended to re-install.
  • (C) Check if the filter of the AC is cleaned or not
    • (i)If not- You suggest to clean the air filter if it’s dirty (dirty filters can cause moisture to collect and drip on the floor).
    • (ii) If yes- Call customer care for engineer’s visit

• We can advise that it is an issue of compressor mounting rubber grommet. If customer insists on this for replacement then call customer care for engineer’s visit.

  • (A) Check the dirty water is collected in cabinet or not
    • (i) Suggest customer for wet service and call Customer care for engineer’s visit

  • (A) Window AC- Check if the front grill is loose or not Split AC -If excess sound is coming from ODU than register the call
    • (i) If yes (Window AC) - If front grill is loose, please slightly push grill towards back
    • (ii) If no (Window AC) - Call customer care for engineer’s visit

  • (A) Check from the customer- Are you facing power fluctuation issue in your area?
    • (i) If yes- Please use stabilizer to fix it
    • (ii) If no - Move to the next step
  • (B) Check from the customer earthing is available at your place or not where AC is installed currently
    • (i) If No - Ask the customer to call electrician and fix it
    • (ii) If yes- Call customer care for engineer’s visit

  • (A) Replace the Batteries of Remote and check
    • (i) If the issue is resolved- It’s a battery issue
    • (ii) If the issue is not resolved- Move to the next step
  • (B) Check the distance between indoor unit and remote
    • (i) If it is a long distance – Ask the customer to come closer then check
    • (ii) If it is a short distance- Ask the customer to visit service center and get this checked or create on site if the customer does not agree to go to service center
